Image
When you think about hamburgers, the first couple of names that usually come to mind are McDonald’s and our very own Jollibee, right? With their popularity around the globe, we can’t blame people for thinking of them first whenever they crave some good ol’ burgers. After all, they have been in existence for God knows how long that their names are already etched in everyone’s minds. 😊 But then, there are also what we call “gourmet burgers.” Those that you can’t buy from those fast-food joints because, well, they are of higher quality. The patties are made from real beef. It’s not that I’m saying that those in the fast-foods are not, but it’s up to you to decide. Sadly, these gourmet burgers are not as famous to the masses as they are on fast-food burgers because people usually think it’s a lot more expensive. 😕 But lo and behold! I just discovered a brand of gourmet burgers that’s both high-quality and affordable. Introducing ZzizzlingBurger! 👌 Located in one of the prime c

Mackoy's Kitchen - All You Need for Your Next Big Party

Image
The covid-19 pandemic has changed our lives in many ways, and there was not a single industry that has not been impacted negatively. The food industry is not an exception. In the Philippines alone, many restaurants have closed down during the height of lockdowns everywhere in the country.  Even the popular ones operating for years, such as Chocolate Kiss Café   in UP Diliman, the Forest House in Baguio, the Whole in the Wall in Makati, and numerous others had to give up instead of losing some more during the pandemic. But amid all these came the rising of online food delivery services.  It gave small food business owners a ray of hope that we will stand up and survive no matter what. One of the budding online food businesses that I recently discovered is Mackoy’s Kitchen. What sets it apart from the rest is that it doesn’t concentrate on selling only one type of food. In fact, it might be all you need for your next big party! 👍👍👍 The online food business began only this year

Buchi's Laksa - The Best Ever Laksa You'll Taste in Your Life!

Image
Laksa is a fragrant and spicy noodle soup widely popular around the South East Asian countries, particularly in Singapore and Malaysia, and equally famous in Indonesia and Thailand. While the origin of laksa is unknown, it’s better known as the fusion of Chinese noodles and Southeast Asian curries. My first experience with laksa was not at all pleasant. I was in Malaysia for training when I tried “Penang Assam laksa,” or fish soup. Please don’t get me wrong, but the only way I could describe it is it was unpleasant. 😖 I promised  myself I’ll never eat laksa again. But there’s one laksa brand that changed my perception about laksa entirely. Introducing – Buchi’s Laksa! A brainchild of mompreneur Eira, who has extensive knowledge about Singaporean laksa. With regular travels back and forth between Singapore and Manila, finding the perfect laksa to match the original taste of those she tried in Singapore was nothing but easy. So, Eira and her husband decided just to concoct their o

Bebuy's - Serving Some of the Best but Affordable Filipino Dishes

Some popular brands come to mind immediately when I think about Filipino foods – Barrio Fiesta, Aristocrat, Gerry's Grill, The Singing Cooks, and Waiters, Cabalen, etc. I mean, why wouldn't I? These are the institutions in the industry that served as pillars of Filipino cuisine in the country. Most of them have been a part of our childhood, at least, those around my age. I remember when I was young, going to Barrio Fiesta or Aristocrat was a reward for my hard-earned grades from school. Ahhh! Those were the days! 😁 But let’s give the budding entrepreneurs a chance. The ones I’ve mentioned above have already fought their battle and won them. After all, my blogs are all about helping new local food businesses, especially during this pandemic. So, here, I found a very new Filipino restaurant located at the heart of the busy Caloocan City. They simply call it Bebuy’s, named after the cute son of one of the owners, Maylene. Started only in November 2020, Bebuy’s is a joint vent
